CEP 812 Applying Educational Technology to Problems of Practice
This course was the third of the three courses for the Educational Technology Certification Program. Assignments were based on exploring and integrating technology-based solutions for education. To view each assignment, click on the assignment title.
TechQuest-Blogging in the Classroom
Our first major assignment was to explore a topic for which there is an educational need, and create a Professional Development type presentation on the educational benefits of that particular topic. The educational need had to be connected to what were called the "four common places," which were students, teachers, subject-matter, and context.
I chose to focus my presentation on the use of blogs in the K-12 classroom. I did some research to explore the educational need, found examples of blogs in various contexts and subject matter, and created a PowerPoint that displayed this information. Personal Technology Plan
Our other major assignment was to develop a plan for continuing our learning in the field of technology in education. We had to describe our vision for technology in education, explore the promises and pitfalls of it, explain our current use of technology, and create a plan for enhancing and increasing our use of technology.
